A.T. The Black & White was built in 1931 and called The Black and White Hamburger Shop as a diner in the style of White Castle. It originally had 8 counter stools, and 6 more stools were added to an additional counter by the window.

The Black and White have had only 8 owners over its 82-year history. In 1992, Ron Lyschik expanded the diner into the vacant Jetka Hardware Store (now our dining room). After nearly 16 years of ownership, Ron sold the restaurant to the current owners, Tomas and Amanda Zimmerman. It seats approximately 100 people and features a lot of the town’s history, including used library books and wall-length murals created by a local artist. Call us today to reserve our incredible dining room for your next event!
