About Hazel Run, MN


Hazel Run was, settled in 1871 and organized in 1877, bears the name of its creek, tributary to the Minnesota River. The city in sections 19 and 30, named like the township, was platted in September 1884 and was incorporated as a village on May 22, 1902, and separated from the township on October 4, 1918. Guttorm Halvorson (Ole) Fostvedt served as postmaster, the post office having been established in 1884. The village had a station of the Minneapolis and St. Louis Railroad.
