Marietta, MN was established in 1874. Marietta has certainly celebrated Marietta Memories! In 2009, the town celebrated 125 years of its existence and in 2010, an all-school reunion was held. Marietta is a small town community that is sure to warm anyone's heart. Marietta has a population of about 162 people. We are located on the West edge of Lac qui Parle County at the junction of MN Highway 40 and LQP County 7 (about 2 miles from the South Dakota state line) and 5 miles north of US Highway 212. When you visit Marietta, you must be sure to check out Salt Lake; which is located four miles southwest of Marietta. There are annual visits from Bird Watchers and others for relaxation and scenic viewing. Hunting opportunities abound in the Marietta area as well.
