Welcome to Port Washington, a picturesque Lake Michigan harbor town with a touch of New England charm.

Just 25 miles up the coast from Milwaukee, our historic downtown district is nestled on the lakeshore. Locally-owned businesses are housed in restored 19th century storefronts. A walking tour will take you past a mix of boutiques, specialty food shops, and an enticing variety of restaurants, all within view of the lake, and our two lighthouses.

It’s easy to play in Port. Our certified Clean Marina is the gateway to boating or charter fishing. Our two sandy beaches are great for walking, launching a kayak, or even a brisk swim. Bike, hike, or bird on the 37 – mile Interurban Trail, which runs right through town. Or grab a bench in one of our lakefront parks to relax, and just watch the ever-changing lake. Our downtown and lakefront are also home to many festivals and events through the year, including a year – round farmers market. We do know how to have a good time!
