About Correll, MN

CORRELL, a city, located in Akron Township, sections 3 and 4, was originally a way station of the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad, platted in 1879 by D. N. Correll, a public surveyor from St. Paul, for whom the city was named, and recorded by the Hastings and Dakota Railway in 1881. The post office began in 1880, with farmer Henry L. Holmes as postmaster. The Thomas F. Koch Land Company purchased the townsite in 1890 and sold it to Charles F. Woods, who in turn developed the Farmers Elevator in 1893.
