About Ruthton, MN

Ruthton is a city in Pipestone County, Minnesota. The city is the home of Exelon Wind’s Cowell Wind Project. The small town’s history holds both esteem and infamy. Though it is home to former Minnesota Viking quarterback Todd Bouman, it also gained notoriety for the murders of two Ruthton bankers during the farm crisis of the 1970s. This story was published by New York Times reporter Andrew H. Malcolm in his book Final Harvest: An American Tragedy. With the crisis in the past, Ruthton is a good place for anyone to stop and check out.
