Artworks Studio

Laura Comito is the heart and soul of Artworks Studio. Since 1985, Artworks Studio, in one form or another, has been a part of Laura and the creative community in Carroll, Iowa.  Laura embarked on a life-long passion for art when as a young child, her mother gave her a set of coloring markers and then drew a house that looked like a house.  After that secret was revealed, there was no stopping Laura in her quest to create.  Artworks Studio is where Laura creates her original works in all types of media.  Her daughter, Kelsey Hall, and her sister, Cecelia Comito, work with Laura at the studio and create their own original works.  Coloring outside the lines is encouraged at Artworks Studio. Our studio space is designed to spark your creative flow whether you are looking for creative stimulation, collaboration, or you just need to play for a couple of hours.  Artworks Studio offers classes for children and adults throughout the year.  Classes and workshops range from making soap to canvas painting to mixed media collage to jewelry making. Try new techniques. Explore your creative side.We sell handmade jewelry, soaps, pottery, paintings, collages, cards, glass pendants, and home decor made by Iowa artists.  You also will find vintage jewelry, hand blown glass, scrapbook paper and supplies, art supplies, and lots of odds and ends.  Our inventory is constantly changing, so you need to stop in often to see what's new.  The studio is open to the public and we love chatting about art or whatever else is on your mind.
