Conveniently located in Northwest Iowa on U.S. Highway 59, the company is widely known as an INDEPENDENT DEALER of premium equipment, with EXCEPTIONAL service.

Sales, Parts and Service of for zero turn mowers, lawn and garden tractors, handheld equipment, compact utility tractors and skid steer loaders. Builders Sharpening & Service has been a name in the Cherokee Area since 1960. In the early years, Builders specialized in Commercial and Industrial Sharpening. Packing plants in Cherokee and Storm Lake area, Van Top (now VT industries) and regional construction companies were just a few of our commercial customers.

In 1980 Builders purchased a small engine business and hired their first employee. Builders earned credentials to be an authorized service for the major engine manufacturers. Building our service business in the '80s brought many changes and challenges. In March of 1986, Builders Sharpening & Service moved to a larger location on East Main Street in Cherokee, and marked the establishment of Builders as a Premium Line Independent Dealer, with John Deere, Bobcat and Grasshopper.

The floods of 1993 prompted a move to "Higher Ground." A year later, Builders Sharpening & Service moved into its present location at 901 S 2nd St. in Cherokee.

Today, Builders is the largest Independent Dealer of new and used outdoor power equipment in Northwest Iowa. Sales and Service of Bobcat, John Deere, Grasshopper, Toro, Stihl, Mantis consumer and commercial equipment, along with providing parts, sales and service for major engine manufacturers.
