Dude’s Steakhouse and Branding Iron Bar has been a Western Nebraska landmark since Deward and Florence Jelinek founded the place in 1952. An Aaron Pyle mural depicting Fort Sidney, prairie pioneers and peaceful Native Americans graces one wall. There is a ballroom and a good old-fashioned shuffleboard table, too. Dude’s 30-oz porterhouse steak is a mountain of meaty perfection. The 16-oz Cowboy Ribeye suits the slightly less ravenous.
