Grounds Coffee Shoppe / Place In The Country is no exception. Back in the mid-80’s, owners Lynn Johnson and her daughter Kari started a small gift shop in their home by New York Mills, Minnesota. As the little shop grew, they decided to move it to Perham in 1991. In 1998, after completing renovation of a 100-year-old building in downtown Perham, The Gathering Grounds Coffee Shoppe / Place In The Country gift shop was born.
Nearly twenty years later, The Gathering Grounds Coffee Shoppe is as well known for their fabulous soup and sandwich lunches as it is for their specialty coffee drinks and mouthwatering desserts! The Place In The Country features two levels of jewelry, books, clothing, and gifts for both kids and adults, along with fantastic antiques and other unique items to fill your home.
