Redwood County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company
In 1889, a meeting of a small group of pioneer farmers voted to form “The Farmers Mutual Fire Insurance Company of the Township of Vail, County of Redwood”. Who would believe the vision of these farmers would develop into an institution that would thrive and grow to provide insurance protection 125 plus years later. It was the spirit that came from that first meeting that has prevailed through the years. The spirit of friendly neighbors is basic to Redwood County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company’s service to our rural area.
In 1919, the company changed its name to “Farmers Mutual Insurance Company of Redwood County. In June 1952, the name changed to “Redwood County Farmers Mutual Insurance Company”. The name we still have today.
Through the years, our commitment has been not only to our policyholders, but also to our agents, other mutual’ s such as ourselves, and our community, as well as to our country.
