The State Bank of Terril was chartered on October 13, 1928, when the bank building was purchased from the trustee of the closed First National Bank. The bank charter was moved to Spirit Lake in 1965, and a branch was retained in Terril. The name was changed to The State Bank recognizing that the bank serves two communities. The 1928 charter is the oldest continuous charter in Dickinson County.
The bank is operating in the same location today and combines technology and quality service in order to offer safe banking in the area, both rural and city.
The State Bank is proud to be an Iowa Independent Bank. We are a Commercial Bank that's owned and operated by local people whose concerns and interest are in seeing our community grow and prosper. If the "personal touch" appeals to you, then we're the bank you're looking for.
