Thompson's Cafe opened its doors in 1979 in Cavalier, ND, a town of about 1200. We are located in the NE corner of the state about 20 miles from the Canadian border. We employ an average of 30 people our son Andrew (he cooks) being one of them. Our daughter Kelsey helps out at various times if we need . Many of our employees start early in high school and continue thru college (working summers and vacations).We have a few employees who have been with us for almost 15 years We offer a full menu - breakfast, subs, steak, pizza ,Mexican food, and broasted chicken. We also carry a full liquor license. We have always tried to serve home cooked meals as much as we can, locally grown potatoes for mashing and always real (customers words) roast beef, roast turkey, pork etc. 98% of our soups used are also homemade. We are open 7 days a week - 6am-8pm Monday- Thursday, 6am-9pm Friday and Saturday, and 8am-8pm Sunday. We close on 2 days a year Thanksgiving and Christmas. This year we will be celebrating 40 years!!! It will be a great year!!
