Whistle Stop Café is a family owned and operated restaurant, serving homemade food since 1998 in the same location. They are open from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday. Breakfast and lunch are served all day long. Whistle Stop Café offers off site catering for almost any size group and occasion.
The name Whistle Stop fits with their wonderful town, Boone is home to the Union Pacific Railroad and the Boone Scenic Valley Railroad. Boone is located in central Iowa about 15 minutes west of Ames ( Home of Iowa State University) and approximately 40 minutes north from the state capitol of Des Moines.
