Our company was officially established when Thomas E. (Tom) Wise purchased the business in 1958 from his employer, Fritz Rochen, and “re-branded” it The Wise Furniture Company. Tom and his wife, Jeanne, provided the growing families of Le Sueur and surrounding areas with not only furniture basics but the newest, most up-to-date furniture fashions available. Tom and Jeanne were committed to providing customer service to each and every customer–a tradition which continues to this day. After Tom’s passing in 1989, Jeanne Wise continued the Wise Furniture Co. service traditions.
Mickey Smith joined Wise Furniture Co. after graduation in 1981, providing delivery and other customer services. In 1990, Mickey moved into sales–making sure each transaction included customer satisfaction before, during and after the sale. In 2005, he purchased the business from Jeanne.
In 2002, Dana Manske joined the Wise Furniture Company as Sales Associate. She also assisted with the management and daily operations and, in 2007, became co-owner. “It is my passion to help customers discover what works best for their home–whether it’s a sofa, the right floor covering, or a perfect lamp,” says Dana.
“We are pleased to continue to serve customers from the area,” says Mickey. “Many of today’s customers are children and even grandchildren of past customers. We truly appreciate that kind of loyalty and work daily to be worthy of that trust.”
