Amboy Area Community Club

Community Organization in Amboy, MN

The Amboy Area Community Club has been around for a long time and my people from Amboy have taken part to build this organization. It eventually evolved into a Chamber of Commerce which was funded by local business. Since then we have moved the organization to a 501(c)(3) a non-profit organization which opens up our ability to request grant money for projects and activities.

As part of becoming a non-profit organization, we needed to develop a mission statement that defined the goals and direction that the organization wanted to go. Because it is a non-profit, our mission and charter does not allow us to directly promote business activities, but does allow us to improve community through, education, historic preservation and community improvement. Since becoming a non-profit we have been able to procure additional revenue for the Arts n' More Festival as well as for other projects in the community including, but not limited to; The Ridge School Restoration project, the Railroad Depot project, tree planting and many other projects too numerous to mention.

Mission Statement:
"This Amboy Area Community Club is organized exclusively for charitable, cultural, historical, and educational purposes, including, for such purposes, the making of distributions to organizations that qualify as exempt organizations under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or the corresponding section of any future federal tax code."

Membership:
Membership is open to the public and current members are made up of area concerned citizens from the Amboy area. If you would like to get involved in the Amboy Area Community Club, we would love to have you join. We meet the second Monday of every month for our regularly scheduled meeting generally at the City Hall Library. Sometimes in the summer we may meet at the Ridge School as well. Our meetings are open to the public and anyone can attend. So if you have something you would like to see done in the community, please come and share your passion. The club can provide revenue and resources to make sure that you have success. We also have an annual fund drive each year to encourage participation in the club as well as financal donations to help fund projects.
