The library is much more than a place to check out books. We have programs and services for everyone in our community. Our kind and professional librarians are standing by, waiting to help you find the information you're looking for. Our mission is to ensure that its patrons have the right and means to free and open access to ideas and information which are fundamental to a democracy. The library protects intellectual freedom, promotes literacy, encourages lifelong learning, and provides library materials and information services. Donetta Smith Stewart is the director for the Auburn Public Library. She grew up in Auburn and Lake City and graduated from Lake City High School. She lives on her family's century farm north of Auburn, and has been working at the Auburn Public Library since 2006.
