In May of 1951 the Cannon Falls Library, thanks to the diligent efforts of the local Tuesday Club, humbly began on one wall of the Girl Scout Leaders’ meeting room.
It is from this one wall that the library progressed from a renovated fire hall, to a renovated grocery store. From 1977 until 2012 the Library’s collection grew but the Library’s building did not. Throughout the years the directors and board members knew that a new library was needed to support the needs of the community. Many plans, designs, and proposals were developed, and in March of 2013, thanks to the Library Board, Library Foundation and an eager community the Cannon Falls Library moved into a new facility specifically designed for a public library.
