In 1920 the Women’s Civic Club of Franklin was organized with a membership of 30 women. The club joined the General Federation of Women the same year. Although our membership is considerably smaller, we are still in existence today. The goal in 1920 and continues today is to make sure our small community is just a little bit better of a place to live! We accomplish this with the many activities sponsored by our club. Some of them include the Miss Franklin Queen Pageant, the Kiddie Parade at Catfish Days, teacher appreciation breakfast, Halloween Party, Bingo with nursing home residents and Senior Scholarships in the spring. In the summer we work at keeping our city entrance welcoming with plants and continuing with Christmas decorations in the winter. Franklin’s Civic Club is proof that a small club can make a BIG difference in our little community!
