The Avery Theater is an entertainment venue for residents of Hancock County and the surrounding areas. Originally opened as a single-screen movie theater in March 1931, the 21st Century version opened to the public on August 16, 2013. Apart from a small part-time staff, the Avery is fully staffed by volunteers from Garner and the surrounding areas.
