Le Sueur Police Reserve

Community Organization in Le Sueur, MN

Reserve Volunteers must reside within the city of Le Sueur or immediate surroundings area, be selected by the Police Department, and have successfully completed, and actively participate in, the Le Sueur Police Department's training program.

Membership Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must not have any criminal convictions
  • Must have a good driving record and a valid driver's license
  • Must be a high school graduate or equivalent
  • Must be in good physical condition

Reservists are not licensed officers and are not authorized to carry firearms.

Duties

Emergency Call-Outs

One of the most important roles of reserves is to be available to assist in emergency situations on short notice. Examples of such emergencies include:

  • Major fires
  • Flooding
  • Lost and missing
  • Children and adults
  • Conduct various searches
  • Crime Scene protection
  • Power outages
  • Fatal accidents
  • Hostage situations
  • Severe storms

Other Reserve Assistance
Reserves work at the Le Sueur-Henderson football games other athletic and social events. They provide emergency first aid and traffic control for these events. They also assist in the school carnivals, assist with McGruff, the crime dog, and are counselors at our annual Safety Camp. They also provided medical assistance for school fun runs.
