The Litchfield Public Library serves the residents of Litchfield and the surrounding area with a collection of over 50,000 books, CDs, and DVDs for children, teens, and adults. A member of Pioneerland Library System, the library provides easy access to materials in 31 other libraries in west central Minnesota, as well as e-books and downloadable audiobooks. The Litchfield Library has 12 public access desktop computers, 4 laptops, and an iPad for use in the library as well as a tablet available to search through the catalogs. A large meeting room and two study rooms are available for public use. Library staff are available to help customers locate the information and resources that they need.
Children and their caregivers are invited to two weekly story times. The library offers book clubs for readers of a wide range of ages, as well as teen programs, an adult coloring program and a Lego building night. The library also hosts author visits, art classes, and cultural and historical programs. The Friends of the Litchfield Public Library holds a book sale every other month and works to support the library in a variety of ways.
