Community Organization in New Ulm, MN

The New Ulm Fire Department (NUFD) is a dedicated team of 39 firefighters and a full-time Fire Chief who serve New Ulm and its surrounding area.  In 2017, NUFD responded to 139 fire calls and logged over 6,177 hours of training, meetings or volunteer service. Our firefighters volunteer for several community activities including the ECFE Vehicle Fair, Bavarian Blast Parade, Hermannfest Fireworks, Brown County Demolition Derbies, National Night Out, the River Valley Dutchmen Hill Climbs and the Lions Fly-In Breakfast. During Fire Prevention Week, firefighters also volunteer for school visits, open house, pizza night and the smoke trailer presentations.
