Pastor Jack Bredfelt was St. John's longest serving pastor, serving faithfully from 1966 to 1987. In 1988 he wrote the following for St. John's 100th anniversary celebration, which still holds true today...
One hundred years is a short time when measured in terms of eternity, but a long time when measured in terms of human life. During these past years, St. John's has touched the lives of many people in this area with the gospel of Jesus Christ. Only in eternity will the full extent of its witness be revealed.
We are thankful for those who a hundred years ago were called together to form our church. It was a step of faith and dedication in those uncertain times. Because of their commitment, hundreds have been blessed during the past century through its ministry. Let us continue with the same dedication to make St. John's a faithful witness to the grace of God we have in Jesus Christ. Paul writes in II Corinthians 5:20 that we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. Serving God in this capacity is the greatest calling we can have in this life. As people respond to God's call through Jesus Christ and join His church, so we will also ensure the future of our church.
