St. Peter is located just a block east of County Road 1 on the South side of 2nd Ave. (77 2nd Ave. S.)
We believe what God says in His Word: all men have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:22-23). All people have broken the standard of God’s holy Law. “All” absolutely includes each of us. At the same time, we trust the Gospel of Jesus Christ. In it, God tells us that we are a congregation of sinners bought by the blood of Jesus Christ, shed for the world on Calvary (John 1:29). St. Paul writes: “For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God” (2 Corinthians 5:20). His resurrection from the dead guarantees a life righteous before God for the Christian now (Romans 3:24) and eternal life with God (John 11:25-26). We gather to rejoice in His gifts of Word and Sacrament in the Divine Service each week. We believe that “faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God” (Romans 10:17). This faith God gives as a gift through His Holy Spirit working in the preached Word. The Gospel gives comfort each week and strengthens faith in Jesus Christ so we can bear fruits of love to our neighbor in our vocations in life. We’d be delighted to have you with us on Sunday morning. Divine Service is held each Sunday at 9:00 A.M with Holy Communion on the first and third Sundays each month.
Sunday School meets following Divine Service. Sunday School meets September through May.
Bible Class meets at 10:15 A.M.
