The First United Methodist Church of Nora Springs is a caring church in a caring community. Our caring is in our worship, volunteering at and supplying the local Food Pantry, teaching the Biblical story, and reaching out to the community through music and friendship. We also care through giving to UMCOR, Bidwell-Riverside Center, Heifer Project, the Thanksgiving Ingathering to meet world wide hunger and supply needs, the Community Kitchen, and the five(5) homeless shelters in Mason City.
Our worship is informal and traditional. A visitor will find people of all ages present in worship. The sermon is based upon the passage of Scripture that was studied and discussed in the Bible Study on Thursday evening. When the Pastors are finished with their reflections on the passage, dialogue , questions and discussion are invited and encouraged. Conversation and discussion continues following worship with a Coffee time in the Fellowship Hall.
