Zion-St. John's roots can be traced back to the 1800's. St. John Lutheran Church of Germantown founded its school in 1879. Twenty-five years later, Zion Lutheran Church of Paullina organized its Christian day school. Both schools provided excellent opportunities to give daily instruction in Christian teachings for its students from Kindergarten through Grade Eight. In 1976 the two schools consolidated to form Zion-St. John. Though the schools have a long history, the education provided is definitely not old-fashioned.
