St. Mary's Parish was founded in 1882. Its present church building, a magnificent example of early 20th century church architecture, was completed in 1915. A school was established in 1891. Classeswere discontinued prior to World War II and the school building was razed in 1968. The rectory containsthe church office and is located just east of the main structure.
Today, St. Mary's is a thriving parish with approximately 167 families who regularly attend the weekend masses. There are 168 students registered for Religious Education.
