Calliope Village is a compilation of historical buildings full of artifacts some dating back to the 1800's. Calliope Village is open Memorial Day through Labor Day on Sunday afternoons and for special events. Managed by the Hawarden Historical Society, this non profit organization is run completely by volunteers and on donations. In 2018 Calliope Village opened another building, the historic Northside Grocery store, now named the Calliope Store. The store is remembered by many in the area who frequented the store on Sundays.
