The objective of the Historical Society shall be to collect, preserve, and disseminate knowledge about the history of Sibley County and to relate it to the history of the State of Minnesota.
Picturesque and historic Henderson is nestled in one of the most beautiful segments of the Minnesota River Valley. It is just a few miles west of U.S. 169 via MN Highway 19. In addition, the Minnesota Valley Scenic By-Way (Sibley County #6 from the north and MN 93 from the south) passes through Henderson. Sibley County Historical Museum is located in the former home of August F. Poehler. Listed on the National Registry of Historic Places in 1982.
