This is a single table set appropriately for a meal but is never used. This special scene honors those who cannot join us, prisoners of war or those missing in action. Please reflect when you pass this table knowing that our POW-MIA would give anything to join their family and friends for a meal.
The tradition of setting a separate table in honor of our prisoners of war and missing comrades has been in place since the end of the Vietnam War. The manner in which this table is decorated is full of special symbols to help us remember our brothers and sisters in arms.
