Anamosa, Iowa is nestled near the Wapsipinicon River in Jones County, and is the Jones County Seat. Anamosa has a population of about 5,533 people.
The town of Anamosa is home to one of the most beautiful state parks along the Wapsipinicon River. Anamosa offers an abundance of recreation opportunities including walking, fishing, golfing, skating and biking by way of our many beautiful community parks and the Wapsi River. Anamosa is the birth place of Grant Wood, and the home of National Motorcycle Museum. Anamosa is also the hometown of Marshal Yanda, and is the pumpkin capital of Iowa. Anamosa is a named after a young Native American girl who visited in 1842 –Anamosa means “white fawn”
