Brookfield was surveyed in 1859 by John Wood Brooks, a native of Boston. John Wood Brooks is further remembered by the names of four Brookfield streets: John, Wood, Brooks, and Boston streets.
The town of Brookfield is large enough to serve and small enough to care which makes a great combination for businesses and families. We offer the advantages of a friendly country community, with plenty of services! We appreciate our history, our agricultural heritage, our traditions, our environment and our neighbors. Our excellent school district is a shining jewel in our community and a center of educational activity and community pride.
Our faith community is strong and welcoming. The Brookfield Chamber of Commerce now has over 100 members — business leaders of our community, providing goods and services to Brookfield and the surrounding area. We invite you to learn more about our growing, clean and friendly community!
