Known
as the Heart of the Bonanza Valley, Brooten is a community made up
mostly of people of Scandinavian and German descent.
Brooten
is a city rich in tradition and has plenty to offer. The schools are
top notch. The BBE School District (which stands for Belgrade, Brooten
and Elrosa) is the home of the Jaguars. The Elementary
School is located in Brooten and has an exceptional teaching force
. Recently this school won the prestigious "Blue Ribbon School" Award
presented to the school officials in Washington D.C. Only a handful of
schools are given this award every year. The BBE High School

is in Belgrade which is 7 miles East of Brooten on Hwy. 55.
Brooten
, a quiet town, offers housing at affordable prices for families and is

The
local newspaper, The Bonanza Valley Voice, will keep you up to speed
with all that goes on. Bonanza Valley Days are held the week-end after
the 4th of July and they have a great small town parade with three days
of activities loaded with fun.
