About Charter Oak, IA
Charter Oak is located in the West Central area of Iowa in Crawford County. With a population of 506, we are a small but vibrant community with many amenities for our residents and visitors alike including:
A city park, tennis courts, a swimming pool, a shelter house, several churches, thriving businesses, and a satellite office for the CCMH Medical Clinic.
Charter Oak-Ute (COU) also boasts a PreK-12th grade school in Charter Oak that was nationally recognized in 2014 by US News Best Schools as one of the best schools in the state of Iowa. High school students at COU will begin participating in whole grade sharing with Maple Valley Anthon Oto in the 2017-2018 school year.

The Achievement Days and the spring dinner honoring the citizen of the year are annual events that really bring our community together and help celebrate what makes Charter Oak so special!
