About Gove City, KS
Gove City, more commonly known as just Gove, is a city in and the county seat of Gove County, Kansas. Gove City was founded in 1885. It was designated county seat in 1886, and incorporated in 1888. It is named for Grenville Gove, member of the 11th Regiment Kansas Volunteer Cavalry.
