Griswold is a city in Cass County. The town was named for J. N. A. Griswold, a railroad director.
The Cass County Historical Museum is on the National Register of Historic Places located in Griswold Iowa. It has been completely restored, redecorated, and it reopened in July of 2007. The Museum houses archives and artifacts covering many aspects of life in Cass County including the earliest Indian inhabitants. The exhibits cover twenty-five areas of history and contain over 7,000 artifacts. The Museum has recently expanded to include the Wayne Kirchhoff scale model collection of historical buildings.
