Welcome to the City of Thornton, an Iowa community of 400+ residents just one mile west of I-35 at Exit 180, which puts us about halfway between Minneapolis-St.Paul and Des Moines.
While we are a small town, our businesses provide a variety of services to both residents and visitors. These include (but are not limited to) restaurants, a gas and convenience store, banking, insurance and real estate, accounting, and an auction house.
The City provides a library, a community center, two parks, fire and EMT protection - as well as excellent city maintenance and clerical services. Please browse through our website to see what we have to offer. We'll do all we can to help you have an enjoyable experience while in Thornton.
