Founded in 1869, Wahpeton, ND is located in the extreme southeast corner of the state in one of the most fertile valleys in the world! Here you will find a thriving community with a wealth of natural resources, nationally known North Dakota State College of Science a two-year state-supported school, beautiful recreational facilities, wonderful neighborhoods and 7800 friendly faces. Wahpeton is at the head of the Red River of the North and a short 50 minutes south of Fargo. The city shares Red River with Breckenridge Minnesota, and together they serve as the county seat to Richland County in ND & Wilkin County in MN.
