First Congregational Church was founded in 1868 as a Congregational Church and joined the United Church of Christ in 1957. We are a diverse group of people who come from many faith traditions and have chosen to walk together as we journey the road of life. We gather each Sunday morning for community worship where we hear God’s word and relate it to our own lives today. From September through May, our program of education and nurture takes place on Wednesday evening, beginning with a free community meal at 5:30 pm, followed by learning opportunities for all ages.
We believe that God continues to speak a word of hope and peace, even in the midst of an often broken world in which we live. We believe that God encourages us to offer welcome and hospitality to everyone who walks through our doors.
