Small-Town Living, Big-Time Opportunity
Saint James (pop. 4,695) is the county seat of Watonwan County. This charming community located in south central Minnesota is surrounded by beautiful Minnesota farmland and open spaces. Early settlers described the area as “fine rolling prairie, diversified and enriched by beautiful lakes of pure water.” The City also benefits from close-by access to major transportation routes: I-90 and Highway 60. St. James has a rich history. The City was founded and created by the expansion of the railroad in the late 1800s. Many well known and interesting people called St. James their home—Minnesota Governor Hammond and Reverend and Mrs. Theodore Mondale (Walter Mondale’s grandparents).
